This last weekend was our first regional competition and was a week 1 event, meaning it’s one of the first competitions around the world. If you are unfamiliar with how regionals work and their schedule here’s a rough outline of how it went down:
Thursday is practice matches, Friday is the beginning of qualifying matches, and Saturday is the continuation of qualifying matches and the playoffs.
We finished Friday with a 3-2-1 record, and when we came back on Saturday we were determined to perform, ending Saturday with a record of 5-3-1 and were ranked 26th, the best of any MPS district team.
Sadly we did not get picked for an alliance in the playoffs, but this was a great opportunity to experience the competition before we compete on our home turf at the North Star regional. Congratulations to the Southwest team Ultraviolet, for winning the Imagery award and the Patrick Henry High team Herobotics, for winning the Engineering Inspiration award, sending them to the world’s competition in Detroit MI. Finally, a huge thanks to our sponsor Fiant Dental and Dr. Graham for funding this trip to the competition and supporting us all the way!!!
