Iowa Regional Results

This last weekend we traveled to Iowa for our first competition of the season. We had high hopes for the robot, and they were not dashed. After 2 days of competition, we came out ranked #12 out of 45 teams with a record of 7 wins and 4 losses.

We ended up being the captain of Alliance 8, picking teams 3206 and 4859 as our alliance partners, and were confident about the playoffs. While we were put against Alliance 1 which had the #1 and #2 seeded teams, the former of which had gone undefeated, we put up a gallant effort and tied them up during the teleoperated period. It all came down to the last 30 seconds, the climb. Our alliance had two bots that could climb to the mid bar (6 points each) and one robot that could climb to the traversal bar (15 points). The other alliance had two bots that could climb to the traversal bar (15 points each) and 1 robot that climbed to the low bar (4 points). While we were outmatched by their collective climbs, the Millerbots are satisfied with our efforts.

Our next competition is the Minnesota North Star Regional in the Mariucci Arena at the University of Minnesota from the 7th to the 9th of April.
