The 2024 First Robotics Competition was just revealed this saturday, this marks a major milestone in our 2023-24 season as we now transition to build season and the accompanying schedule. Week 1 starts with the team together coming up with cocktail napkin designs, sketching rough ideas of what the robot should look like on loose pieces of paper. After we present the ideas to the group at large, we break into our sub-teams where students do 1 of 3 things. The Design sub-team will work with the rough concepts to develop what is called a “Crayola CAD” which is a 3D model made of simple geometric shapes. Build sub-team will build the field elements for drivers to practice with. Finally, Media sub-team will begin a website renovation and continue fundraising for the team.
